Well, this was certainly more exciting than it looked on paper. After seeing the recaps of this week’s action, I can say one thing is for certain: I hope you didn’t have money on these games…
Week 2 Predictions

The college football season got off to a predictable start a week ago by being unpredictable. I was way, way off on a few games, but still picked correctly in 11 of 15. Here are my predictions for week 2...(Hint: East Carolina better get their dancing in before Saturday)
Uniforms

Watching UCLA and Tennessee battle into overtime was a Monday night treat, and got me to thinking about the uniform. After all, the Bruins blue and gold is as easy on the eyes as any uni in sport. And Tennessee's light orange and Block T is recognizable nationwide as the symbol of the Volunteers. But UT very rarely wears the orange pants, which is what made the wheels start turning in my head. The uniform is one of the greatest aspects of sports and college football has no shortage in variation.

Fans at Texas A&M, Michigan, Clemson and Virginia Tech will be searching for answers this week as these teams took the brunt of the damage. Missouri won the big game in the midwest, defeating Illinois 52-42 in a shoot-out.

This game was built-up to near BCS game status for the last week and the entire summer only to have the main event go down as a dud. ABC's "A" crew, a nearly national TV audience, and 75,000 rabid fans in the Georgia Dome couldn't get Clemson pumped enough to play ball, and the Tigers were run out of the dome by Alabama, 34-10.
ACC Nightmare

After a miserable start to the 2008 season, the Atlantic Coast Conference has reached new lows. Several games this past weekend went as wrong as possible if you are a fan of the ACC. What was a remodel of the league to form a super conference a few years back now looks like a science project gone completely wrong.
